All I want is to feel one day that I don't need to apologize for my existence.

Rilke, The Notebooks of Malte Laurids Brigge.

We discover, indeed, that we do not know our part, we look for a mirror, we want to rub off the make-up and remove the counterfeit and be real. But somewhere a bit of mummery still sticks to us that we forget. A trace of exaggeration remains in our eyebrows, we do not notice that the corners of our lips are twisted. And thus we do about, a laughing-stock, a mere half-thing: neither existing, nor actors.

Jacques Lacan

"A birth certificate tells me that I was born. I repudiate this certificate: I am not a poet, but a poem. A poem that is being written, even if it looks like a subject."

Unfinished poem.
Note for further use."

***

"All humanity is divided into “yes” and “no,” and we will always be with those who have 'yes' in their nature. Beware of the 'I' and the 'no.'"

The Man Who Was Scared of his Shadow

There was once a man who was terrified of his own shadow and lived in fear of the sound of his own footsteps. Walking along one day he entered a panic and tried to flee at top speed. But as fast as he ran, his shadow and footsteps kept up with him and made him run all the faster, until he finally collapsed of exhaustion and died.
If he had only sat down in the shade of a tree, he would no longer have have been able to see his shadow or hear his own footsteps.
